Heidi Hamilton, Enrichment Center Director

Meet Heidi Hamilton, Enrichment Center Director

Journey21’s Enrichment Center Director, Heidi Hamilton, was been a special education teacher for 29 years at Arrowhead High School where she helped young adults transition into post-secondary life. She’s also a mother to Alec and Aubrey, who are both in college. Heidi credits her younger brother, who has an intellectual and developmental disability, for inspiring her to pursue a career assisting children and adults with IDD.

Heidi is responsible for organizing Journey21’s programs and outings. Her goal is to provide a safe and positive environment where adults learn, socialize and create new friendships. Her time with Arrowhead High School formed many connections with local businesses, agencies, and community programs. She loves bringing these connections to Journey21 and providing amazing opportunities for our adults, offering a positive experience.

What are some of the benefits of participating in Journey21’s Programs & Outings? Heidi says, “We focus on socialization. Our outings create opportunities for young adults to practice their social skills in a fun and natural setting. It’s been wonderful watching new friendships develop and grow since our outings began!”
