Best friends. Teammates. Fragile X.

Marvin and Max are the best of friends, teammates, and both have Fragile X Syndrome (Fragile X). They have attended Pre-K through 12th grade within the Arrowhead School District and are actively involved in the Hartland Community where we have lived for 24 years.

Jim and I have been discussing the path for the boys’ adult lives for the last six years. Our dream is that they can live and work in a community accepting and supportive of their needs. They should have the opportunity to continue to grow educationally and socially just as any young adult would.

We always knew we could potentially help build a community like this for our boys and other adults that had similar supportive needs. The dream expanded when I met Sheila and Journey21, Inc. was created.
