Kenny Rabbitt, Learning Academy Assistant

I am very thankful to be joining the Journey21 team. After getting to know many of the leaders and students involved in the organization during the inaugural year, I look forward to supporting such a positive and impactful program.  I have had the opportunity to learn from talented and passionate educators and coaches while working in Special Education for the School District of Waukesha and assisting with various Special Olympics teams and sports.

Promoting independence, encouraging health and wellness, and creating valued connections with the community have long been professional goals of mine.  I am grateful to work for an organization that aligns with my passions and strives to increase the quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

My career path has been a nontraditional one in regards to working in education, but I feel confident that my experience and educational background can provide a unique perspective to the Journey21 community.  I graduated with a degree in Human Resources from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon, and I hope to utilize my education to help the people of Journey21 in the areas of career development and personal finance.

When I’m not working, I enjoy coaching youth sports, helping with community theater organizations, and generally being active, particularly running and playing basketball.

I feel energized and empowered to be joining the team at Journey21.  This community has a bright future and I can’t wait to be a part of it.
