Volunteer

Your Time Can Change A Life

Volunteers are a vital part of Journey21’s story. When you give your time, you create real connection and impact—not only for the adults we serve, but for yourself as well.

Whether you can help once a week or once a season, your presence helps bring our mission to life.

How You Can Help

CORE Companion

CORE Companions support participants during Journey21’s Community Outings and Recreational Experiences (CORE), making each program fun, inclusive and meaningful. Through activities like art, cooking and fitness, they share in the joy and help create lasting connections and memorable moments. There are roughly 12 CORE programs a month, typically taking place in the evening or over the weekend.

Job Coaching

Job Coaches support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) at their internship sites, providing guidance, encouragement, and hands-on support. They help participants build skills, confidence, and independence while fostering an inclusive, positive environment. Job Coaching shifts take place twice a week from 1-3pm.

Why It Matters

Volunteers are the heart of what we do. They show up with open hands, open minds, and a willingness to be present—and that’s what makes the biggest difference.

You don’t need any special training to get started. If you care about creating connection, offering support, and helping others feel seen, there’s a place for you here. We’ll guide you, support you, and make sure you feel confident and equipped every step of the way.
