Registration is officially open for the Journey21 3rd Annual Mid-Winter Retreat and both sessions are filling up fast!
This retreat offers a wonderful opportunity to break up the winter and connect with others.
Our focus will center on four fundamental areas:
Personal Health & Wellness: We will focus on food and nutrition while planning and preparing simple snacks and meals. We will learn how to make healthy choices while learning the benefits of fueling our bodies with solid nutrition. An additional focus will be on hygiene, personal care, and the development of healthy lifestyle habits.
Power of Art & the Senses: Engaging in creative activities is known to reduce stress. Through a variety of hands-on art projects, we will explore color, texture, sound, and other sensory elements to cultivate calm, deepen our appreciation for the arts, and spark our creativity.
Fitness & Outdoor Recreation: Moving our bodies in a fun and meaningful way will be a priority this week. Learning about ways to improve our cardiovascular endurance while building muscular strength will be a goal. This will be done in a circuit style fashion, along with both individual and team games. We will also head outdoors for some winter adventures!
Social Skills Development: We will have opportunities to initiate friendships, good conversations, and practice our conflict resolution skills. Team building, communication skills, and working with others to accomplish a task will be woven in throughout the daily activities to enhance our social skills.
